While Leeds United are trying to get the best deal possible for Raphinha, having already signed his replacement in Luis Sinisterra, they are also looking at other players.

One of those is Charles de Ketelaere, who, much like Sven Botman did before joining Newcastle, prefers a move to Milan.

The Serie A side cannot currently compete with Leeds financially, with Gazzetta dello Sport explaining the current situation to their readers on Tuesday.

A conclusion is around the corner regardless, as they state Milan ‘will know by the end of the week where De Ketelaere will be Stefano Pioli’s starting midfielder’.

As things stand, ‘there is no ultimatum, but contacts between Milan and Club Brugge are now very frequent’.

‘So frequent’, in fact, that the next few days should give us an idea as to what will happen, but ‘there is optimism’.

The belief is that a deal can be closed for ‘between €30-35m’, but there still could be an ‘unexpected’, which is Leeds.

That’s because ‘the team that has moved more decisively’ on the Belgian is the one from Elland Road.

In fact, Leeds ‘have made a much higher offer than that of Milan’, even if the player has ‘made it clear that his preference’ remains a move to Italy.

Therefore, it’s now down to Jesse Marsch and those above to convince him otherwise, either with more money or just by talking to him, or they will see him fly south instead of north.
