It seems Leeds United’s interest in Sporting midfielder Manuel Ugarte isn’t being forgotten by the Portuguese media anytime soon.
The Whites get a mention today in a story from O Jogo, where they speak about the European interest in the player.
Recent claims have been saying that Italian sides AC Milan and AS Roma are both keen on going for the 21-year-old this summer, especially because of his recent performances in the Europa League.
After covering those claims, O Jogo points out they’ve already reported the interest from several Premier League sides, with Leeds included.
Ugarte is protected by a €60m release clause, and the price for his summer move should be related to the number and size of clubs who are going after him at the end of the season.
Last week, we saw the very same O Jogo claiming that Leeds sent scouts to see Ugarte facing Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium, but they’re just one of many who are keeping tabs on the player, so they better get prepared for a fair bit of competition for his signing.
