On Tuesday afternoon, a report from the English media suggested that Leeds United, still looking for a new manager, had decided to turn their attention to Pedro Martins.
The Portuguese coach, currently in charge of Al-Gharafa in Qatar, is the latest in a long list of attempts from those in charge at Elland Road to replace Jesse Marsch.
Andoni Iraola, Arne Slot and Alfred Schreuder are just a few who have been approached by Leeds, but the Premier League club are still to be successful in finding the right man.
The first two were blocked by their clubs from speaking to the Whites, while the latter looked close, but ultimately wasn’t given the job.
Marcelo Gallardo and Tara Martino have also been contacted, per reports, but neither are convinced about taking a job in February, and would be rather more interested in starting anew in the summer.
Pedro Martins is now the latest to be approached from Leeds, and Zero Zero in Portugal back up the claims from England, adding he is now ‘one of the favourites’ to take over at Elland Road.
In fact, they have learned that the Al Gharafa manager ‘has already been informally approached’ by those in charge of Leeds and ‘talks will resume in the coming days’.
Could this be the one?
