Leeds United are ‘expected to knock’ on Fenerbahce’s door at the end of the season for a cheap deal for Michy Batshuayi as he continues to impress in Turkey.
That’s according to Aksam, who say Leeds are looking into a possible cut-price transfer for the Belgian who has 20 goals and three assists in 34 games this season.
They explain that Batshuayi’s performances so far have ‘managed to attract the attention’ of those in charge at Elland Road, who are planning ahead in case they are promoted back to the Premier League at the first time of asking.
They are ‘expected to knock’ on Fenerbahce’s door at the end of the season and potentially secure a cheap deal thanks to Batshuayi’s contract situation.
His current deal expires at the end of the season but the Turkish side have an option to extend it, so a free transfer is off the cards if they take up that option as expected.
It would mean he’d still only have a year left on his deal, though, opening the door for an inexpensive move should Leeds want it.
Fenerbahce are certainly expecting them to call, knock or any other method of communication, so Batshuayi is again a name to keep an eye on moving forwards.
