Leeds United are pressing for a deal for PSV Eindhoven star Cody Gakpo as a replacement for Raphinha.

That’s according to Foot Mercato, who say Jesse Marsch’s side are ‘anticipating’ a departure for the Brazilian and want his replacement lined up.

According to FM, they are ‘keeping a close eye’ on Gakpo after his impressive performances for PSV last season.

He managed 19 goals and 14 assists in all competitions last season and has been heavily linked with a move away this summer as a result.

Leeds are now keen on a deal, and a source inside the club has confirmed they are ‘very attentive’ to the situation around the player.

That same source has confirmed to FM that Leeds would have ‘no trouble’ paying Gakpo’s €30m if they get more than that for the Brazilian, using that money to go for the Dutchman.

At the moment, it seems it depends on Raphinha’s potential departure, but as he is being ‘actively pursued’ by several clubs, it seems Leeds are planning ahead.
