On Wednesday afternoon, it was made clear by Foot Mercato that Leeds United were getting closer to signing Ismaila Sarr from Watford.

It was said the two clubs were edging towards an agreement, and the talks with the player were also going well.

However, it was made clear that any deal taking the Watford star to Leeds was reliant on the Elland Road side offloading someone first.

Then came an article from TuttoMercatoWeb claiming Joao Pedro was also a target for the Whites.

Well, Foot Mercato back this up, via their journalist Santi Aouna, who explains the situation surrounding the double deal.

Taking to Twitter, he reveals the double swoop is currently being discussed ‘between Radrizzani and Pozzo’.

Regarding the latter and it’s explained that Leeds ‘want a loan’, while Watford, who are now back in the Championship, want ‘a transfer’.

As for Sarr, we’re at the same stage as we were on Wednesday, with a ‘verbal agreement nearly struck between clubs and the player, but his arrival depends on an exit’.

Certainly something to keep an eye on.
