Leeds United and Hull City are among the clubs in the picture to sign Spezia goalkeeper Bartłomiej Drągowski in the winter market.
The Poland international has kept three clean sheets and conceded 22 goals from 14 games this season. He hasn’t made an appearance since November as Spezia coach Luca D’Angelo has favoured Jeroen Zoet ahead of the 26-year-old.
Il Secolo XIX, relayed by TuttoMercatoWeb, mention both Leeds United and Hull City when discussing Drągowski’s situation at the Serie B side.
The report says he currently earns €1.1m per year and that weighs heavily on their wage bill. This, coupled with Drągowski losing his place in the starting XI, could lead to his exit.
It’s claimed the stopper is ‘likely to leave’ the second division Italian club this month. The first call came from unnamed French clubs, who are aiming to take the former Fiorentina man on loan with an option/obligation to buy.
There’s interest from La Liga sides and ‘above all’ from the Championship, where Leeds United and Hull City are those named as interested parties. These two clubs could soon contact his agent, to ‘test the waters’.
With Drągowski likely to leave Spezia, the report claims the Championship, where Leeds and Hull City are interested, is ‘ready to welcome’ him in the winter market.
