Leeds United ‘have already decided’ to buy Weston McKennie from Juventus this summer, according to reports from Italy.
Calciomercato claims that unless the Whites are relegated to the Championship, they’re making their move to make that deal permanent.
The outlet points out that Leeds can just trigger the buying option and buy the midfielder for €34m, and says this is an ‘outright’ purchase, so it seems they will not be contacting Juventus to discuss a possible discount.
The report recalls that McKennie has a contract with the Old Lady until 2026, with a salary worth €4m net per year.
That’s a sign that the Old Lady had been bothered to be paying him that much in such long-term deal, so they shall be quite happy that the Whites will take him away for good.
Leeds managed to beat Nottingham Forest 2-1 this week and that result undoubtedly meant a lot in their quest to stay in the Premier League, meaning everything is on the right track.
The Whites now stand in 13th on the table, but there’s no time to relax yet, as they’re still only two points away from the relegation zone.
