Loaned to Luton Town at the beginning of the season, Albert Sambi Lokonga struggled with injuries during the first half of the campaign.
However, he finally got some minutes with the Hatters before Christmas, and has never looked back, recently shining brightly in the 4-0 win over Brighton.
The Belgium international is now an integral part of the squad at Luton Town, and there are a few, including DH in his home country, who wonder whether a permanent stay at the Premier League club could be on the cards if they manage to avoid relegation.
Lokonga said: “This group is special, that’s for sure. There’s a cohesion, an energy. There’s not a day that goes by when I don’t have a laugh with the staff. I needed that positive environment. After that, we haven’t talked about next season, because that doesn’t just depend on me, but also on Arsenal and my performances.
“I’m leaving all the doors open to me. I haven’t taken the time to analyse the situation yet. What’s clear is that I’m enjoying the fact that I’ve got time on my hands and that I want to continue in the same vein next season. I’ve had a tough couple of years. I haven’t played so many games since Anderlecht.”
The 24-year-old may only have 10 appearances for Luton Town this season, but he has made the most of them in the past few weeks, picking up an assist in the aforementioned 4-0 win and one in the 3-2 victory over Sheffield United.
He has started the last five Premier League games for his side, and is even taking part in their FA Cup run, recently knocking out Everton.
