Earlier on Friday, we covered a claim from Italy which stated Wolves were making a late move to sign Armand Laurienté from Sassuolo.
It came around the same time as reports from the Netherlands that Carlos Forbs was set to travel to England to go through the formalities and join the Premier League club.
Both are left wingers, but the reports were independent and it looked like Wolves were going for the pair.
Now it’s been made clear Laurienté won’t be playing for Gary O’Neil’s side this season.
TMW report on Friday evening that Sassuolo rejected the late offer from Wolves. They report the English club had offered a €1m loan fee plus an obligation to buy next summer for €14m, but that wasn’t enough to satisfy the Serie A club.
Instead they wanted €16-18m, and it would appear things didn’t go any further from there.
Marseille and Galatasaray were also keen, but they too failed to find an agreement with the Italian club.
