Elliot Anderson has impressed for Nottingham Forest this season, having arrived at the club in the summer transfer window.
The Englishman has scored once and has five assists to his name and has been an important aspect in the club’s superb run in the Premier League.
The 22-year-old has settled in well at Nottingham Forest but it seems as if Nuno Espirito Santo’s side faced the threat of losing the player late in the January transfer window.
Gazzetta dello Sport reported yesterday that AS Roma were keen on signing a midfielder in the last few hours of the winter transfer window.
They approached Nottingham Forest regarding a move for Anderson. However, CEO Lina Souloukou, who has previously worked at Roma, rejected the approach. She asked for a ‘significant sum’ to let the talented midfielder depart.
As a result, the Giallorossi backed away and approached Salzburg’s Lucas Gourna-Douath. The Frenchman was announced as a Roma player late in the day.
