Barcelona hit the headlines this week when the club unveiled their third shirt for the current season. There was some surprise that the colours are the traditional Barca style, making it look more like a home jersey than an alternative one.

Nike clearly believe they’re going to sell more kits this way, and there’s already firm plans in place for the future.

Saturday’s edition of Sport has Barcelona’s supposed home kit for the 2022/23 season on their front page. It’s dubbed ‘Laporta’s first shirt’, with the club president having input in what the designs will be for next season.

The stripes are relatively traditional, if more narrow than usual, but the big talking point will be the dark blue section at the top.

Sport say those who have seen the shirt, presumably a prototype first hand, have assured others it’s ‘spectacular’. The inspiration is said to be the 1992 Olympic Games in Barcelona, and transformation of the city.

There’s also a leak on the away shirt for next season, which is set to be gold… with a nod to gold medals won in those Olympic Games.

Final design details can change, although Sport seem pretty sure that the kits will follow this plan.
