Kristian Thorstvedt finished his debut season at Genk with nine goals and three assists across all competitions, and has started this campaign with a goal and an assist in his first four league matches.

Rogalands Avis commentator Espen Iversen has written a report on the midfielder, in which he states Tottenham Hotspur are the 22-year-old’s ‘favourite club’.

Having come up through the ranks of Norwegian side Viking, Iversen says many questioned his qualities. He has a high opinion of the player, who is now dubbed the ‘Lampard from Våland’.

Thorstvedt made his debut for Norway in November 2020 and has been a regular since then. In the last two matches with the national team, he managed a goal and two assists.

The Jupiler Pro League man is represented by Jim Solbakken and Iversen claims the agent was smart enough to identify his client’s potential. The journalist seems confident that Thorstvedt will go on to prove his doubters wrong in the future.

Iversen then mentions Spurs and says if Thorstvedt’s favourite club, Tottenham, ever need a ‘different midfielder’, then they can call Solbakken.

The north London side are the Genk player’s ‘favourite club’ possibly because his father, Erik Thorstvedt, represented Spurs for eight years between 1988 and 1996. This could give the Premier League side a further edge over others, if they decide to sign Kristian.
