Sent to Borussia Dortmund for the second half of last season, Michy Batshuayi really enjoyed himself away from Chelsea, earning himself a spot in Roberto Martinez’s Belgium squad to go to Russia in the process.
However, the Blues’ asking price seemed to put off the German outfit from trying to make the transfer permanent, and the forward is now expected to return to Stamford Bridge unless someone else comes along.
According to Cadena COPE in Spain, however, the Belgian could bounce back in La Liga, where Valencia are said to be interested.
The Spanish radio station are reporting on Wednesday Peter Lim’s club have made contact with Chelsea about Batshuayi, and have asked them for him to be loaned for the upcoming campaign.
The talks surrounding the transfer are currently said to be focused on whether or not to include an option to buy in the deal.
The fact Chelsea are said to be looking around Europe for a new striker doesn’t bode well for Batshuayi, even if Alvaro Morata were to be sold.
Considering the player is a fan favourite and cost the Blues around £35m, we’d expect the fee (in the option) to be relatively high.
