La Liga side Valencia are very interested in signing Chelsea winger Robert Kenedy, according to reports from Spain.
Outlet Super Deporte writes that the 25-year-old is now an ‘express personal request’ from manager José Bordalás, who wants a fast player in their squad for next season.
The coach already worked with the Brazilian back at Getafe in the 2019/20 season, and with faith in his potential, has asked Valencia’s board to negotiate his transfer with Chelsea.
Kenedy has just had a loan spell at Granada, where he finished with eight goals and six assists in 44 appearances, and that was apparently enough to draw some attention.
Super Deporte is full of compliments towards Kenedy, explaining he’s one of the fastest players in La Liga and claiming his versatility could help Valencia next season.
However, they also point out this shouldn’t be an easy operation. It’s claimed Chelsea already turned down Granada’s request to keep him on loan for another season, and Blues manager Thomas Tuchel would like to see him in training before taking a decision on his future.
The website explains that Valencia’s interest is ‘firm’, but the deal is at the ’embryonic stage’, as the parties haven’t even talked about money yet.
