For the past few months, Fabian Balbuena and his agents have never hidden their plan of leaving West Ham United.

Since the defender’s contract with the Hammers expires this summer, his dissatisfaction with his recent playing time the main reason why he’d walk away from the club.

It’s still not clear where Balbuena will play next, and the most recent claims from Spain now point out that Real Betis are a potential destination.

Diario de Sevilla say the La Liga side are chasing defenders of ‘physique and aggressiveness’, which would be the case of the West Ham player.

Radio Marca recently claimed Balbuena would demand a salary of €2.5m per season. Diario de Sevilla, however, says that’d be too much for Betis, who made a lower offer.

It’s claimed that the club are offering the player €1.5m per season, and could even raise the figures to €2m, and not a penny over that.

Since Manuel Pellegrini is the current manager at Betis, Diario de Sevilla believes the signing of Balbuena is a request from the coach, who previously worked with the defender at West Ham.

In the past season with the Hammers, the Paraguay international only made 19 appearances.
