Zion Pullan has starred for Celtic‘s youth teams but is yet to make his debut for Martin O’Neill’s side.
The 15-year-old has featured for both Celtic’s U15 and U17s this season and has been their standout player.
Estadio Deportivo report on the winger, who has scored 58 goals and contributed 35 assists for Celtic’s youth teams this season.
This has also seen him make his debut for Scotland U15s in November.
Rise at Celtic not unnoticed
According to Estadio, the young attacker’s ‘rapid development’ at Celtic has already seen him attract interest from European clubs.
The newspaper relay a claim from La Cantera de Lezama to report Athletic Club Bilbao as an option for Zion Pullan.
The La Liga side’s sporting leaders highly value the teenager, who fits into their policy as he was born in Tudela, Spain. This makes the Scotland U15 international also eligible to play for Spain.
His impressive performances for Celtic U15 and U17s have already seen the Spanish FA call him up for their U15 squad. There are other unnamed clubs keeping a close watch on the talented attacker.
Pullan’s profile is similar to that of Athletic star Iñaki Williams. The 31-year-old Ghana international had an opportunity to join Liverpool in the past. He talked about their interest in 2022 and explained how close he came to joining the Reds.
Williams has a contract until 2028, and Estadio state Athletic Club Bilbao identify Pullan as his replacement.
The La Liga side believe the Celtic youngster has the potential to take over from Williams in the long run.
Our take: Why Athletic need to act quickly
It’s no surprise Zion Pullan’s rise so far has caught the attention of several clubs. This will only increase as he continues to impress at Celtic.
Therefore, Athletic Club Bilbao need to make quick advances, to avoid any potential battles with multiple clubs and overpaying.
