The future of Ignazio Abate continues to be pretty unpredictable in Italy, with the player possibly leaving AC Milan after nine years at the club.

In the past few days, we’ve been covering claims from a couple of local sources saying Wolves would be interested in the right-back. It was a surprising link, but with two different sources in Italy pushing the story, there may be something in the background.

But the Championship winners are apparently not alone in the race, as today, newspaper Tuttosport brings one more possible destination for the 31-year-old.

The outlet claims that Abate could meet his long time friend Zlatan Ibrahimovic at LA Galaxy, as the Swedish legend wants him by his side in the United States.

The fact that Abate’s agent is Mino Raiola only makes the situation more difficult for Milan, according to the newspaper.

The player’s contract runs until 2019, and with no big signs of a renewal, a summer departure seems possible so the club can still get a fee with his sale.

Wolves aren’t mentioned in Tuttosport’s story. Joining the Premier League and the MLS are very different paths for a footballer’s career, so it seems Abate would have to think about what he wants for his future.

That’s if these rumours aren’t being pushed as a play for a renewal.
