Burnley FC are continuing their efforts for VfB Stuttgart striker Darko Churlinov, but need to move quickly to beat Anderlecht to his signature.

That’s according to Florian Plettenburg, who says the Clarets are maintaining a hardline stance in terms of the fee required.

He reports that the striker has a personal agreement with Anderlecht on a deal until 2027 and Stuttgart are expecting an official offer, worth €4-5m, to arrive before Friday.

If that happens it could accelerate the striker’s departure from the club but Burnley, who have also been linked with a move, are also in the picture.

They want a new striker after Wout Weghorst moved to Besiktas on loan, with Vincent Kompany’s squad lacking options up front at this moment in time.

That is something the Belgian wants to address and Churlinov has been named as a potential target.

Plettenburg confirms that Kompany ‘wants him too’ but at this moment in time Burnley only want to pay around €3m at this stage.

That’s below Stuttgart’s valuation, despite their willingness to sell the striker.

Thus, Anderlecht are out in front at this moment in time unless the Clarets are willing to up what they’re willing to pay.
