A couple of days ago Croatian media outlet tportal reported Liverpool have made an offer of €15m for Dinamo Zagreb star Anto Coric.
According to another Croatian website 24 Sata, Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp has ‘Six DVDs of Coric in his drawer’.
All of them have recordings of Coric’s different aspects of the game – passing, ball control, attacking etc.
24 Sata say Coric went to a house after the Euros to evaluate all the offers on the table. His representatives had discussions with Liverpool, Manchester City, and Chelsea, but have been left impressed by the Anfield club.
Apparently, Liverpool are ready to pay €15m in one instalment for Coric ‘in cash’, and Klopp wants to get a deal done before their pre-season tour to the United States.
The Liverpool boss wants to try Coric in the games against Chelsea, Milan, and Barcelona, and his performances in those games will decide his future.
It’s detailed stuff, but then Croatian transfer rumours always are.
24 Sata believe Coric will get to stay at Liverpool should he manage to impress Klopp, otherwise he will be sent on loan to Mainz. There is some sort of an agreement with Mainz that will force them to play Coric in 80% of their games.
The player believes he can make an instant impact at Liverpool, but doesn’t mind a loan spell at Mainz either.
That’s not all.
The Croatian website say the club received another offer of €20m for the player yesterday, although they haven’t mentioned who made the offer. Liverpool, however, are not prepared to offer anything more than €15m.
Jurgen Klopp is very keen on signing the player, and made that clear after arriving at Anfield.
The German manager showed the club officials a list of nine young players he has been following in the last two years, and was asked to choose one of them.
Of course, the article says that one is Ante Coric.
When the Coric rumours started we said it’d soon turn into a saga, and that’s happened within a few days.
