Two days ago, Sport explained Marco Asensio is waiting to see if Liverpool or another club will make an offer to sign him in the ongoing window.
He has less than 12 months left on his Real Madrid deal and the two parties have struggled in renewal talks.
Wednesday’s edition of Sport has a report on the 26-year-old, titled: ‘Liverpool like Asensio.’
Within the report, they state AC Milan, who had looked at the Spain international, have cooled the option to sign him.
Therefore, the former Mallorca man ‘looks favourably’ on the possibility of starting a new adventure at the Merseyside club. He would also be willing to lower his salary demands to join the Reds. He asked Real Madrid for €6-7m net per year to sign a new deal.
It’s not just the player and Liverpool who are in favour of the transfer. Real Madrid, who are tired of Asensio’s attitude, have reduced his asking price from €50m to €30m.
A move can only materialise if the English side make an offer to the Champions League winners.
