Villarreal’s Arnaut Danjuma has chosen to join Everton on loan over AC Milan because he wants the chance to prove himself in the Premier League.
That’s according to Voetbal International, who back up reports that Danjuma will be joining Everton on loan in the near future.
Reports last night and this morning have made it clear Everton are closing in on a loan deal for the Dutch forward, having reached an agreement with Villarreal.
Those have explained that the player also had the chance to join AC Milan, who, in the last few days at least, appeared close to getting a deal over the line.
VI now confirm that was the case and Danjuma had ‘several options’ on the table this summer but ‘he has chosen Everton’ over the Serie A giants.
That’s because he’s determined to ‘become important’ in the Premier League, having failed to do so at Tottenham last season, where he played a bit part role at best during his loan spell in the second half of the campaign.
It was also an opportunity he missed during his time at Bournemouth, where injuries limited the impact, he could have before he moved to Villarreal and so a third shot at England’s top flight was the ‘key driver’ here.
The newspaper also states that Danjuma ‘hopes to benefit’ from Sean Dyche’s first full season in charge, where stability will be the number one goal after a turbulent few years.
Calciomercato.it also have their say and confirm he is close to joining Everton but insist he was never close to AC Milan in the first place. According to their information, he was nothing more than a ‘management idea’ for the club.
Now he is ‘one step away’ from joining Everton instead, with a deal ‘very close’ to completion and Milan looking elsewhere, seemingly determined to let everyone know they weren’t that keen anyway.
