The arrival of N’Golo Kanté at Stamford Bridge, as great for Chelsea as it is, means a player already at the club could be on his way out, and the Italian press are really hoping it’s Nemanja Matic.

According to Tuttosport, the Serbian defensive midfielder, who was a revelation during his first season under José Mourinho, isn’t a part of Antonio Conte’s plans, and Juventus are interested.

The Serie A champions have been linked with the former Benfica star for quite some time now, and the arrival of the France international has given everyone hope it could happen.

Of course, this deal would only ever take place if Chelsea made it clear he was for sale, which doesn’t appear to be the case for the time being.

Tuttosport say if he doesn’t fit in Conte’s plans, then he ‘could fit in another great club’, and Juventus would welcome him with open arms.

It’s worth pointing out that Gazzetta dello Sport believe Matic will be a key player for Chelsea, but, then again, that was before the arrival of Kanté.

You really can’t blame Tuttosport.

As a wise man once said: “We all hope. It’s what keeps us alive.”
