Rumoured as being a target for many “bigger” clubs after a brilliant first season in the Premier League with Leicester City, it seems Chelsea are on the verge of winning the battle for N’Golo Kanté.

Le Parisien were the first to report of an agreement being reached between the two English sides for the France international, and now a second French source are backing them up with their info.

France Football on Thursday published an article on their website on Thursday saying a fee of €35m has been negotiated by Chelsea for Kanté, which stands at just over £29.2m.

Real Madrid are also keeping an eye on the former Caen star, but it seems the Stamford Bridge have pipped everyone to one of the hottest targets on the summer market.

Claudio Ranieri even acknowledged the player’s future was in his own hands after Leicester offered him a new contract before the Euros, which he is yet to sign.

Kanté under Conte will certainly be interesting if it happens.
