Chelsea and Brentford are stepping up their monitoring of Kaick Silva, a midfielder who is quietly building a well-rounded profile in the MLS.
The 20-year-old has not arrived in Europe with hype, but his development curve is starting to attract attention.
Born in 2005 and developed at Brazilian side Grêmio, Kaick Silva made his name as a composed defensive midfielder before evolving into a more complete presence in central areas.
At 1.75m, he relies less on physical dominance and more on reading of the game, positioning and technical security.
He is now seen as a player who can break lines with progressive passing, dictate tempo from deep and still contribute defensively. That mix has become valuable for Premier League clubs looking to add flexible midfield options without overspending.
According to RTI Esporte, both Chelsea and Brentford have placed the FC Dallas player on their radar. Interest is still at a monitoring stage, but it reflects how his performances in the United States are being tracked more closely.
Development in the United States
Kaick Silva’s move to FC Dallas in March 2025 has proven decisive. The American side paid around €4m (£3.4m) to sign him from Grêmio, and he has since grown into a regular starter.
His adaptation was quick. He began as a more defensive presence, focused on ball recovery and positioning. However, over the current season, his role has expanded. He now contributes more in build-up, attempts progressive passes and shows confidence in distributing over longer distances.
Still, there are areas to refine. Kaick Silva can be beaten in one-v-one situations quite often and sometimes forces shots from distance without much efficiency. In a way, his versatility is both a strength and a challenge.
He’s the case of a player who is capable of doing many things, but fails to really excel in any of them.
Contract situation and price point
Kaick Silva’s contract with FC Dallas runs until December 2028, which gives the MLS club a strong negotiating position. There is no urgency to sell, and any deal would likely be driven by the right offer rather than timing.
His release clause is set at around €18.5m (£16m), which is considered high by MLS standards. However, it reflects both his age and growth potential.
Grêmio, his former club, retained 20% of his economic rights. That means any future transfer will also benefit the Brazilian side, adding another layer to negotiations.
Why this matters for the London rivals
Kaick Silva’s trajectory places him in the category of strategic rather than immediate signings.
For Brentford, he could fit into a system that values tactical intelligence and progressive passing from midfield. His profile aligns with players who can adapt and grow within the club’s data-driven recruitment model.
For Chelsea, the situation is slightly different. The club continues to build a portfolio of young talent across multiple markets. Kaick Silva would represent another long-term investment, with the expectation of development rather than instant impact.
At this stage, there is no indication of formal bids. However, with European clubs increasingly attentive, FC Dallas may soon face more concrete approaches.
