Former Juventus star Pavel Nedved has told the Czech media Udinese youngster Jakub Jankto can go on to have a very successful career.

The midfielder has been in impressive form for Udinese this season, and subsequently has been linked with moves to West Bromwich Albion and Leicester City.

Speaking to Rozhlas, Nedved was asked about youngsters coming through into the Czech national team, including Jankto.

Nedved said Jankto has made an impact for his club this season, and expects the Czech international to eventually move to another club. The Juventus vice-president thinks Jankto has a big career ahead of him with the talent he has.

“I think all three of them have put in great performances. Krejci in Bologna, Schick at Sampdoria and Jankto in Udine. They do not have to stay at these clubs, but they can make a far bigger career,” said the Juventus legend.

Earlier this month we covered claims from Italy that West Brom had joined the race to sign Jankto. It was reported the Premier League side have travelled to Italy to get a lowdown on the Czech U21 international before making a possible move for him in the summer. West Brom boss Tony Pulis will be looking to strengthen his squad in the next window, and Jankto is an option.

Leicester City have also been weighing up a move for 21-year-old Jankto. Udinese value the Czech Republic international at £8m, but are still keen to renew the player’s current contract.

The Serie A side want to extend Jankto’s contract until June 2020, but they will have to act quickly with Leicester City and West Brom showing a keen interest.
