Jurgen Klopp leaving Liverpool was by far the biggest managerial news of this year, and it still won’t have hit home for many yet with Arne Slot’s side yet to kick a ball in anger.
There’s some frustration around the Liverpool fanbase regarding a lack of transfer business so far this summer. Klopp had seen that all before, but at least when he was in the hot-seat there was the confidence, based on his record, that things were probably going to be ok.
Klopp has spoken repeatedly since he left the Premier League club, and at times has cast doubt on whether he’s even going to return to management at all one day.
But he’ll be back on the bench in September for a very special reason.
Kicker report that on September 7th, at Borussia Dortmund’s Signal-Iduna-Park, Klopp will play a major part in an event celebrating former BVB players Jakub Blaszczykowski and Lukas Piszczek.
Klopp will be managing Blaszczykowski’s team, and said he’s “really looking forward to it”.
