An interesting opportunity could be developing for Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp. In January 2016 it was reported in Italy that Klopp was keen on signing AS Roma’s Leandro Paredes, who at the time was playing for Empoli on loan from AS Roma.
Liverpool were further linked in March, when it was claimed the club had sent multiple scouts to watch the player, who was of course still at Empoli.
The Merseyside club were again linked with Paredes by the English media during the summer transfer window, but it was considered unlikely Roma would sell the 22 year old Argentine.
Things change, and on Saturday Gazzetta dello Sport report that Paredes could leave, with Liverpool mentioned as a possibility, to enable Roma to build the funds to buy Grégoire Defrel from Sassuolo.
Roma have just signed Clement Grenier from Lyon, he’s on loan with a buying clause of just €3.5m. Gazzetta suggest Paredes would be available for less than previous price tags placed on the player.
