Antony is the first-choice right winger at Manchester United and he’s failed to score a goal or register an assist from 18 games this season.

Earlier this week, a report from the UK stated the Red Devils scouts have watched Real Sociedad star Takefusa Kubo on several occasions.

This is backed up by Mundo Deportivo Gipuzkoa, who then provide their own information on Manchester United’s pursuit of the 22-year-old.

The Japan international has six goals and four assists from 24 games this season and Erik ten Hag’s side are following him closely.

Manchester United’s ‘officials have already expressed interest’ and the fee they are willing to offer to secure the deal would be for next summer and not in January. The report adds the possibility of a swap deal involving Kubo and Antony is a ‘very unlikely option’.

It’s said the Premier League side are willing to offer the attacker a ‘juicy contract’, which is six to seven times his current salary at La Real.

Kuba’s deal lasts until 2027 and MD Gipuzkoa state it has a €60m release clause, which is the fee the La Liga side would request to part ways with him.

The attacker doesn’t want to leave and is ‘very happy’ at Real Sociedad, where he plays a prominent role on the pitch.

He’s also not requested for a pay rise but MD Gipuzkoa state it’ll be difficult for the club to retain Kubo, if they don’t adjust his salary before next summer.

As some of you are no doubt already thinking, this looks potentially like a story leaked to help a player get a pay rise.
