Since Antonio Conte took charge of Tottenham Hotspur in November 2021, the Italian media has been constantly covering his job at Spurs, always wondering if he’ll return to Serie A anytime soon.
Now with this complicated situation between the manager and the London side, there’s even more attention on what could happen to the coach in the next few months.
It turns out that as Tony Damascelli spoke today at Radio Radio (via Calcio Mercato Web), he not only claimed that Conte should ‘resign’ from his position, and even brought some news on Tottenham’s pursuit for a new manager.
“If you have dignity and you want to follow up on those words, you have to resign. His accusation in conference, the tone, must lead to only one consequence,” Damascelli told Radio Radio.
“If you look at Tottenham’s history, it’s as if you were coming to Lazio who have won only one Scudetto recently. That’s why they hired him, if you let the team bottom of the table draw with you at 3-3, things aren’t right. There are two things: either dismissal or resignation.”
“I know that Luis Enrique has already been contacted, there is a good possibility that he will go to England.”
Now purely focused on the Premier League, Antonio Conte has the international break to find some improvements at Tottenham and get back in action on the 3rd of April, when they visit Goodison Park to face Everton.
Luis Enrique, meanwhile, left the job at the Spanish national team after the World Cup, and seems to be taking some time off before accepting a new job.
And with things not getting any better at Spurs, perhaps he’ll end his vacations earlier than expected.
