Chelsea are ‘keen on’ Napoli striker Victor Osimhen after his superb goalscoring start to the season.

That’s according to journalist Ciro Venerato, who backs up claims from Italy that the Blues are looking at the Nigerian forward.

Osimhen has been in superb form for Napoli this season, scoring six goals in six games in all competitions thus far.

A report from Gazzetta Dello Sport today indicated that has earned him plenty of attention from the big sides in Europe, with Chelsea and Manchester City both named as suitors.

It was explained that either club would have to pay well over €100m for the striker, who is now a key player for Luciano Spalletti’s side, after costing them €70m in September last year.

That fact alone seemingly made it unlikely that Chelsea would move for him after spending over €100m on Romelu Lukaku this summer, but Venerato insists they are among the clubs interested.

“At Napoli, the accounts come back, the last market orchestrated by Giuntoli brought Anguissa and 10 million in assets,” he told Rai 2, relayed by Area Napoli.

“The midfielder cost only half a million euros on loan, with the wages also paid in part by Fulham. Lowered the cost of labour, minus 15 million compared to last season.

“Osimhen is already worth three times as much, with Chelsea, Real Madrid, PSG and Manchester City all keen on the Nigerian.”
