Jérémy Doku managed four goals and eight assists in his debut season at Rennes, while he is yet to manage a goal or an assist this campaign.

The winger’s mixed performances since the start of 2020/21 season have not stopped Liverpool from keeping an eye on him.

Jürgen Klopp’s side have been an admirer of the 19-year-old since his time at Anderlecht. They even tried to convince the player to join the Merseyside club in the past, but he and his family rejected it to continue development with the Jupiler Pro League side.

Doku and Club Brugge’s Charles De Ketelaere are two of the most promising young players from Belgium right now. Recent reports from the British press have linked the latter to a handful of Premier League sides.

RTL Sport journalist Alexandre Braeckman took to Twitter to praise the duo, suggesting both players could be made available next summer.

Regarding Doku, Braeckman explains Liverpool are ‘best placed at this stage’ to take him. The former Anderlecht man is now at Rennes, but the journalist states he could leave them at the end of this season.

Even though Liverpool are in the ‘best position right now’, the journalist made it clear that no club has made a firm offer to Rennes so far.
