Douglas Luiz left Manchester City on a permanent transfer when he moved to Aston Villa in the summer of 2019.

Since the start of last season, the 22-year-old has been a key member in Villa’s starting XI. His performances for the Premier League side helped him debut for Brazil and he’s now a regular for Seleção.

Italian journalist Enzo Bucchioni has made claims about the former City man in his column for TuttoMercatoWeb.

Juventus are looking at a new midfielder and the Aston Villa player has been pushed towards the Serie A winners.

According to Bucchioni, the spotlight is on Manuel Locatelli and there were contacts for his signing in the summer. However, Sassuolo’s €40m demand was deemed too high by the Turin club.

Arsenal’s Lucas Torreira, who is currently on loan at Atlético Madrid, has been proposed to Andrea Pirlo’s side, but there’s no enthusiasm in signing him.

Luiz is one of the ‘strengths’ of Aston Villa and Bucchioni states he has been ‘proposed’ to Juve by intermediaries.

The South American is an emerging star, but is valued at €25m (which is an Italian valuation and seems a little low) and Pep Guardiola’s side have the right to buy the player back.
