José Mourinho vs Arsène Wenger.

What a media battle this clash has been over the past ten years or so.

It’s no secret that both managers don’t particularly like each other, with the Special One calling Wenger a ‘specialist in failure’ while the Frenchman got angry and shoved his counterpart during a game a few months later.

And these are just two examples of many.

According to Marca on Wednesday, we’ve had another one, but, this time, it wasn’t in public.

The Spanish newspaper report that during the Elite Coaches Forum on transfer deadline day, chaired by none other than Sir Alex Ferguson, Mourinho was searching for a seat (there was no seating plan), and, asking someone if they minded if he sat next to them, he got the answer: “No, no that’s not possible.”

That person happened to be Arsène Wenger, who turned his bitter rival away without hesitation, and Marca say that while some people smiled and whispered in surprise, others just looked in the distance, not wanting to get involved, acting as if nothing was happening.

There’s no indication as to what happened afterwards, but we’re going to take a guess that Mourinho probably sat down somewhere else.

Also, did this even happen?
