There’s a claim in the Turkish media that Fenerbahce are showing interest in Celtic attacker Daizen Maeda.
The Japan international has been a key player for Brendan Rodgers this season, helping Celtic to another league title. However, his performances for the Scottish champions have brought him to the attention of Fenerbahce as they look to improve their squad ahead of next season.
Takvim report Jose Mourinho is keen to strengthen his attack after losing out on the Super Lig title to local rivals Galatasaray. Dušan Tadić is also expected to leave the Yellow Canaries this summer.
The Istanbul side are looking to target Maeda, according to the report, and their sporting director Mario Branco is ready to press the button on their intended transfer activity ahead of this summer’s window.
There are no reports at this stage when they will enter into negotiations with Celtic or what they are prepared to offer for the forward.
Maeda has made 51 appearances for Celtic this season, scoring an impressive 33 goals. He’s contracted to the Glasgow club until June 2027 after extending his current deal in 2023.
