Marouane Fellaini’s current contract with Manchester United will expire on June 30th. So far, the Belgium international has not signed a new deal at Old Trafford, despite his manager Jose Mourinho publicly expressing his desire to keep the midfielder at the club.

According to the Belgian publication Het Laatste Nieuws, the 20-time English champions have informed Fellaini that they need an answer from him regarding his future.

Failure from the Red Devils to tie their player to a new contract will see him leave as a free agent this summer. The former Everton midfielder is not short of options, but clubs do seem to back away when they learn his salary demands.

HLN claim that as well as AC Milan there’s interest from another English club, who go unnamed at this stage.

Manchester United’s manager is described as being ‘frustrated’ with the club’s failure to get a deal sorted out for Fellaini, but many fans have made it clear they’re not quite as keen as Mourinho to keep the player.

What seems to have caused further annoyance among the United faithful is it being increasingly apparent Fellaini’s representatives have been speaking to a number of clubs and trying to get a deal so lucrative it feels unbalanced even in today’s market.
