Wolverhampton Wanderers could be an option for Ansu Fati as Barcelona are ‘working against the clock’ to get rid of him before the end of this month.
That’s according to Sport, who state the La Liga side have to carry out two important sales this month in order to register contract renewal of a few of their players.
Fati is one of them and his agent, Jorge Mendes, ‘pushes to convince’ him to accept a move to Wolves.
The Catalan club have decided to cash in from the Spain international’s transfer. His sale is the ‘key operation’ for Barca, to register contract renewals and make new signings in the summer.
Mendes has promised the Blaugrana to convince his client to leave and has recommended the player to make a move elsewhere. The agent’s idea is to place him at Wolves and then carry out am exchange deal that’ll see Barca get €30m and Rúben Neves.
This benefits Xavi’s side, considering they value Fati at €60m. He ‘now officially knows’ the doors are open for him to leave the club. Despite this, the attacker isn’t keen on joining Wolves and his priority is to continue at the Camp Nou.
Mendes isn’t finding another team willing to invest €60m on Fati. His refusal so far not only blocks Barca from raising funds but also stops Neves from arriving at the Camp Nou.
The midfielder has already said goodbye to Julen Lopetegui’s side and is waiting for the final agreement to join Barcelona.
