Nottingham Forest, Crystal Palace and Bournemouth are closely tracking Jorge de Frutos, as the winger’s season at Rayo Vallecano keeps gathering momentum and interest across the Premier League.
According to Spanish newspaper Marca, the English clubs have renewed their focus on De Frutos after another productive campaign in La Liga and Europe. And they say the interest is not new.
Last summer, Nottingham Forest were willing to offer around €15m according to the story, while Olympiacos pushed with a €12m proposal. Rayo Vallecano decided to keep the player and build around him.
A key moment for a key player
That choice has paid off. De Frutos is enjoying one of the best spells of his career. He has already equalled his best league return with six goals and added two more in the Conference League.
Those numbers have also helped him earn a call-up to the Spain national team. Luis de la Fuente has included him in recent squads and values his versatility and goal threat, even though his minutes remain limited.
His adaptability plays a key role in his growing market appeal. Jorge de Frutos can operate out wide or through the middle, including as a makeshift number nine. That tactical flexibility increases his value, especially in a market where goals and multi-functional attackers come at a premium.
Nottingham Forest, Crystal Palace, Bournemouth keen

Alongside Nottingham Forest, Crystal Palace and AFC Bournemouth have asked about his situation. Marca make clear this is serious contact, so not just a passing enquiry.
Bournemouth’s interest stands out given Andoni Iraola’s connection to Rayo, even though he did not work directly with De Frutos in Vallecas.
Still, no club has submitted a formal offer. As things stand, both Rayo and the player see a summer move as more realistic than a January exit.
Rayo Vallecano remain firm for now. They do not want to lose one of their main attacking references midway through a season with several objectives still alive.
De Frutos has a contract running until 2028 and a €50m release clause, a figure widely seen as out of reach. Even so, the club accept that stronger offers than last summer’s could force them to sit down and negotiate.
More options for Jorge de Frutos in foreseeable future

Interest goes beyond England. Besiktas retain the player on their radar after trying a loan with a mandatory €20m purchase last year. In addition, a major club from Saudi Arabia has already made official enquiries.
With half the season still ahead and a possible World Cup place in the background, Jorge de Frutos’ future remains open, and Premier League clubs continue to watch closely.
