Nottingham Forest continued negotiations for Santiago Giménez, after their first two offers were turned down by Feyenoord.
Earlier today, De Telegraaf said the Reds have made an improved offer of €33m including bonuses. It was also stated the Dutch club want a club-record fee [currently at €32m] for the striker.
According to 1908.nl, the Premier League side have returned with a fourth bid of €33m plus €2m bonuses. Feyenoord will also receive 15%, presumably of the profit, from a future sale.
The two clubs are ‘approaching an agreement’, which will Feyenoord to register a new club-record sale. Therefore, they are ‘fully cooperating’ to sanction the 23-year-old’s sale before the window closes on Friday.
Nottingham Forest have been trying to sign Arsenal’s Eddie Nketiah, but his salary request of £120,000 per week has become an obstacle. This convinced them to return for the Mexico international and the report says his salary request is around £100,000 per week.
The report’s title says ‘Giménez deal to Forest is complete’. Within the report, it’s claimed only medical tests and contract signing separates him from joining Nuno Espírito Santo’s side.
The private plane to take Giménez to the UK is waiting at Rotterdam Airport. He should soon travel to England to carry out the transfer formalities with Nottingham Forest.
Santiago Giménez is thought to be happy with the deal.
