Catalan newspaper Sport report Gerard Deulofeu can already be considered a Watford player. In a big article for their Sunday edition, it’s explained an agreement has been reached for the sum of €13m and that Javi Gracia has been a big factor behind the deal.
For a while it’s been reported in Spain that Watford’s manager has been calling for Deulofeu’s permanent transfer, and Gracia hasn’t made any secret of how much he rates the player.
Gracia is said to be heading a ‘remodelled project’ at Watford, and Sport believe Deulofeu is a big part of that for the Spanish manager. So important do Sport see Gracia’s role in the deal, they call the ‘determining factor’.
The contracts are already ‘drafted and signed’ and Sport say Deulofeu could be considered a Watford player from a few days ago. It’s believed the clubs have agreed to announce the deal next week, before the start of the World Cup in Russia.
Barcelona originally wanted €20m and it’s stated the Pozzo family initially insisted they wouldn’t go above €10m, so €13m is the compromise which has been reached.
It’s worth pointing out that a few days ago it was reported by Mundo Deportivo, another Catalan newspaper, that Gracia had got his man for €10m.
