As you will be aware of by now, Tottenham’s Harry Winks is currently on loan at Sampdoria, where he has yet to feature.
The midfielder picked up an ankle injury that has kept him out for the first half of the season, and on which he underwent surgery towards the back end of last year to try and resolve.
He is slowly coming back, and has made it clear he wants to impress away from Tottenham at Sampdoria, hoping to do so during the second half of the campaign.
The problem is, he has yet to make his comeback, and, as written on Club Doria 46, is ‘training to still guarantee himself a future’ at the Serie A side.
It’s said that January ‘could be a crucial month’ for him, but there is good news in all this, as he took part in group training meaning that ‘his conditions therefore improve’.
They relay the ‘Genoese edition of Repubblica’ for this, who state ‘Sampdoria must make a decision’ about the player.
Basically, ‘between now and the end of January’, the Serie A side ‘will decide what to do with Winks’, with their choices either being to ‘send him back to Tottenham’ or to ‘keep him until the end of the season’.
Down his end, the Spurs player ‘wants to repay Sampdoria for their trust’ and wants to remain where he is to help his club avoid relegation.
