Two days ago, we carried a report from AS, who claimed that Leeds United are ready to make a €4m offer for Alaves’ Ibai Gomez in January.

On December 13th, the same publication reported that Leicester City have joined the Whites for the 29-year-old and the two clubs are expected to make bids for the forward.

The player’s former club, Athletic Club Bilbao are also interested in the player and Mundo Deportivo now mentions the Basque club and Marcelo Bielsa’s side follow him closely.

It’s stated offers won’t be missing for the Bilbao born player, whose contract with Alaves will expire next summer.

The Catalan newspaper mentions Abelardo’s side want to keep Gomez at the club by handing him a new deal and are set to submit another renewal offer.

However, Mundo mentions Alaves know for a fact that their star’s form for over a season has seen his value increase and aware that they will club receive offers from the wideman’s potential suitors.

Meanwhile, Gomez himself refused to discuss the recent speculation surrounding his future.

“It’s a matter that I still prefer not to talk about, I want to be calm and focus on my game,” AS quoted him as saying.
