James Rodriguez is currently in Portugal, which could be good news for Everton.

With a transfer to Goodison Park thought to be closing in, he hasn’t trained with Real Madrid today. That was expected, especially after it was revealed he was in Porto on Sunday.

Pedbola Porto, a sports club, posted an image on Instagram of the Colombian at their facilities. A Bola say that as part of his vacations, James has been spending some time in Porto, where he played before his move to AS Monaco.

Travellers from Portugal aren’t currently required to quarantine when they arrive in the UK. That situation could change towards the end of the week, but, as it stands, it would make the signing easier for Everton.

Several clubs have faced difficulties when bringing new players in from much of Europe, with Leeds United still trying to work out when Rodrigo Moreno will be able to start training with their squad.

Arsenal still haven’t announced the signing of Gabriel Magalhaes, despite it being thought he’s been in the country for over a week.

Depending on where James Rodriguez was before he arrived in Porto, Everton may not have any quarantine issues with the way the rules currently stand.
