Once holding the prestigious record of never losing domestically this season with West Ham, Pedro Obiang’s great run came crashing down when the Hammers were beaten 2-0 by Everton.
The player, who has worked his way back into West Ham’s first-team following a bench warming start to the season, is apparently a target for Fiorentina in Italy.
Corriere dello Sport in Italy report the 24-year-old is the Serie A club’s number one target for January, ahead of others like Stevan Jovetic or Juan Iturbe, with his knowledge of the league (he signed from Sampdoria) likely to be a factor.
Of course, him being top of their wishlist doesn’t mean they will get him, especially now that the player appears to be back in Bilic’s plans.
The Italian newspaper even acknowledge this, suggesting the other targets on the list are ‘more solid’ than the West Ham midfielder.
Since the start of the season, Obiang has made 12 appearances in all competitions, including playing all four games of the club’s once again short lived attempt to make it to the Europa League group stages.
