Andrea Radrizzani could be set to try and appoint Blackburn Rovers boss Jon Dahl Tomasson at new club Sampdoria, having previously targeted him at Leeds United.
That’s according to Club Doria 46, who say the Italian businessman is starting to shape his plans for the Italian club following his recent takeover.
He needs to find a new manager and Tomasson’s name ‘has risen’ on their list in the last few hours as Radrizzani scours the market.
According to the website he has the Dane ‘in his sights’ after he previously ‘sought him out’ for Leeds United when they were looking for a new manager.
The website makes no mention of when that particular pursuit was, but we’ll have to assume it was either following Marcelo Bielsa’s departure or that of Jesse Marsch earlier this year.
Either way, Radrizzani thought the Blackburn boss would be a good fit for Leeds and now believes Tomasson has the ‘international profile’ that he’s looking for at Sampdoria.
Getting him out of Blackburn will be no easy feat as he’s impressed at Ewood Park since his arrival and has a contract with the club until 2025.
It is his work with them that got him ‘noticed’ by Radrizzani who, after considering for Leeds, now wants to take him to Italy for Sampdoria and will ‘try to convince him’ of the move.
