Leicester City boss Claudio Ranieri is interested in the Watford midfielder Étienne Capoue, according to reports from Italy.
The idea is Ranieri is disappointed with the team’s opening Premier League results and the signing could be made in the next transfer market.
The rumour was reported by three Italian websites: Calcio Mercato.com, Calcio Mercato News and Calcio Mercato.one.
The only one who gives credit is Calcio Mercato.one, who says the story is originally from Calcio Mercato News. However, according to the time of the post, Calcio Mercato.com wrote it first. A bit of a mess, since all the articles are basically the same.
Capoue started all three Premier League matches for Watford this season and scored two goals. He signed a four year contract when he moved from Tottenham for £7.5m in 2015.
If Leicester are looking for a big boost in January then Capoue wouldn’t immediately seem the man to provide it.
