Italian newspaper Tuttosport simply links Pep Guardiola to Juventus today.

Yes, that’s what you’ve just read. And although it could be an interesting story in case the outlet had any information about the Old Lady pursuing the Catalan manager, the article is only based on assumptions.

First of all, they say Guardiola was signed by Manchester City to win a Champions League. And if the manager fails to get the trophy for the third season in a row, then Sheikh Mansour would be more open to letting him go.

The manager’s move to Italy would be seen as a challenge, especially because of the tactical culture there is in Serie A, something it’s believed the Catalan boss would love.

The only big problem for Juventus would be Guardiola’s salary.

Tuttosport says that for Juve to keep the €20m salary he makes per year at Manchester City, they would have to spend up to €37m gross. That’s twice what they pay Massimiliano Allegri. However, Juventus are making a big effort to expand the club’s brand, and signing Guardiola would be an effort to succeed.

With all arguments now presented, we wait for Tuttosport to have a story saying Juventus really plan to sign Guardiola, who has recently signed a contract extension with Manchester City. For now, that’s all speculation.
