The Champions League clash between Liverpool and AC Milan tomorrow night is set to go ahead without a big star.

According to reports from the Italian media, Rossoneri star Zlatan Ibrahimovic will not travel to England due to an injury.

Tutto Mercato Web writes the striker is said to have pain in an Achilles tendon and is now expected to stay in Italy for ‘precaution’. The injury should be confirmed by Milan manager Stefano Pioli this afternoon.

Following a knee injury which sidelined him for months, Ibrahimovic made his comeback at the weekend in a Serie A clash against Lazio. His few minutes were enough for him to score a goal in the 2-0 win, but now a new physical issue shows up.

Earlier on Tuesday, we covered another report from Italy, which explained Sandro Tonali hadn’t been training with his AC Milan teammates this morning.

The midfielder, who is an important player for the Rossoneri, was suffering from intestinal problems, and was pictured watching his teammates on the training pitch.

Despite that, there wasn’t a great deal of worry about his involvement against Liverpool, with the Milan media confident Tonali will be fit enough to take part.
