Manchester United bolstered their attack in the last window by adding Rasmus Højlund to their squad, and the Red Devils reportedly invested an initial fixed fee of £64m to buy him from Atalanta.
La Dea took the striker from Austrian side Sturm Graz for €17m in 2022 and profited from his sale to Manchester United.
On Sunday, the Serie A side settled for a goalless draw against Juventus. Prior to the tie, Atalanta CEO Luca Percassi spoke to DAZN to analyse the club’s transfer business in the last window, and his comments are relayed by FCInter1908.it.
After explaining Atalanta’s decision to ignore offers for Teun Koopmeiners, Percassi said his side are delighted to have cashed in from the striker’s sale to Manchester United.
“Højlund away? Happy with the work done, it was right that Atalanta satisfied the boy after the offer received from Manchester United,” he said.
The 20-year-old, who made his Manchester United debut in their league defeat to Arsenal, has made six appearances this season and scored his first goal in the 4-3 defeat to Bayern Munich in the Champions League.
The Denmark international’s arrival has seen Anthony Martial being reduced to a back-up role under Erik ten Hag.
