Last month, Bold reported FC Copenhagen are ready to make a move for Newcastle United’s Emil Krafth. They also stated the Danish club are looking for a cut-price deal in the winter market.

The Sweden international, who is in his final year of contract, received a late call-up from Graham Potter this month.

Fotbollskanalen have spoken to the Newcastle United player to discuss the Copenhagen. links. The right-back insists he isn’t aware of their interest.

“I haven’t heard anything from FCK. It’s more just what has been written in the papers. We’ll see. I have a contract with Newcastle until the summer, and I’ll have to think about it a little longer then,” he said.

Last week, Krafth’s agent Patrick Mörk told Fotball Direkt the player’s wages are too high for all Scandinavian clubs. Therefore, Copenhagen can’t afford to sign the 31-year-old. The representative also said the Magpies won’t let him leave in January.

Newcastle United player knows he’s on big Premier League wages

Fotbollskanalen asked the fullback whether he’s too expensive for Copenhagen. He hasn’t categorically closed the door on the Danish club despite his agent’s denial.

“I don’t know. I have no idea. I haven’t heard anything from Copenhagen. I’ve only read about it in the newspapers. No contact has been made. I’m at Newcastle and I’m focusing on that,” Krafth explained.

“If you compare a Premier League club with a club in Scandinavia, it’s clear that I earn more in the Premier League. Everyone does. But that’s all I know.

“I can’t comment on that because I haven’t received any questions [from FCK]. If you haven’t received the question, you can’t know what’s going to happen. If the question comes, I’ll have to comment on it.”

The fullback has also left the door open to a move to Scandinavia after this season.

“It totally depends on what comes up. I’ll have to decide then. But I don’t want to focus that far ahead,” he added.

“I want to try to be in the here and now, do well where I am now. I don’t want to get carried away in my thoughts because then it often doesn’t turn out well.”

Krafth has played three matches for Newcastle United this season.
